Who I am
I’m Sam (Sam W), a computer science student in Queensland. My partner and I are in a long-distance relationship, and we’re planning our own partner visa application.
Why I built it
Like a lot of couples, our evidence is spread across two phones in two countries. Almost Home is the shared record I wanted for us: both partners add to it as things happen, sort it into the four categories the Migration Regulations list, and export PDFs that follow ImmiAccount’s upload rules.
How the guides are written
- Every factual statement is checked against an official source first: Home Affairs help text and pages, and legislation on AustLII. Each guide lists its sources and the date they were checked.
- Tips reported by applicants are only included when many independent sources agree. They’re labelled “reported” and never written as rules.
- The guides pass on what Home Affairs and the law say. They don’t say what or how much to submit, or how evidence is assessed.
- Sources are re-checked about monthly, and the “last checked” date changes when they are.
Not migration advice
I’m not a registered migration agent or a lawyer. For advice about your own application, talk to a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner.
